End of Quarter - End of Semester Grades

If your mentor has not visited with you about how to finalize end of quarter and end of semester grades AT LEAST two weeks before those are due - please contact him/her and ask for a time to get together to cover this. Even if you think you know what you are doing, make sure of it before the last minute arrives.

It is your mentor's responsibility to initiate this contact, BUT it is your responsibility to make sure your grades are entered correctly and on time... and your mentor is probably just as busy as you are :) By working together we will all serve our students better!

Need Something Laminated?

The high school does not have a laminator.

When I want something laminated I send it to Jan Bell (the elementary librarian) with a nice note asking her to please laminate this for me. If possible, make it at her convenience. The more you can do it this way, then the more likely she is to be able to do a "rush" for you when you really need it. You can either put your material in an envelope and send it through inter-office mail; or have a student take it directly to her.

I usually get these "at your convenience" requests back within two weeks. The material comes back all folded together in the rolled laminate and it is then your responsibility to get it all cut out.

What is a Buddy Teacher?

1. You and your Buddy Teacher are assigned to each other by Mr. Boles and it will usually be the teacher with the classroom nearest to yours.

2. You and your Buddy should expect to perform the following services for each other:
* when you have afternoon duty you will send your Advisory students to your Buddy when the first bell rings so you can go outside to your duty station
* during a fire or tornado drill (and especially in case of a true emergency), as you are leaving you should verify that your Buddy is okay and appears to have all his/her students under control
* if your Buddy should be injured, you would take charge of his/her students - for this reason you and your Buddy should each have a copy of the other's rosters in his/her purple emergency backpack
* if you have a meeting during Advisory, any of your students not involved in that meeting would go to your Buddy's room

3. If you don't know who your Buddy is, find out from Mr. Boles... and then take some time to get to know this very important person!

Hope This Helps

I'm pretty good about adding informative links, and pretty bad about actually writing the blog part. :)
